George A. Lane
George A. “Dig” Lane, 66, of Connellsville, Pa., died Saturday, December 28, 2002 in H. C. Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant, Pa. He was born September 7, 1936 in South Connellsville, Pa., son of Charles Lane and Mary Yankovich Lane.
Mr. Lane was a graduate of Connellsville High School
He was retired from Anchor Hocking Glass Corporation, South Connellsville, where he was employed for 34 years.
He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force, member of South Connellsville Volunteer Fire Department, and a member of The Polish Club in Connellsville.
A brother, Richard Lane, and his parents preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret “Peggy” Kimmel Lane; three children: Dennis Shearer and his wife, Marcia, of Dickerson Run, Pa., Donna Bryner and her husband, Barry, of Dickerson Run, and Matthew Lane and his fiancee, Barbara, of Connellsville; three grandsons: Adam Bryner, Wesley Bryner and Christopher Shearer; one brother, Eugene Lane and his wife, Pat, of San Diego, California; and one sister, Barbara McGinnis and her husband, John, of South Connellsville.
Friends will be received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 East Green Street, Connellsville, Pa., today from 2 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, December 31, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., the hour of Services in the Funeral Home with Pastor Ray Keefer officiating.
Interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville, Pa.
South Connellsville Volunteer Fire Department will conduct a Memorial Service in the Funeral Home today at 7:30 p.m.
