Man injured
Cecil Earl Grow of Grindstone suffered moderate injuries in an accident Saturday at 2 p.m. on Newell Road. State police in Belle Vernon said he left the road, struck a fire hydrant and rolled over. His car was severely damaged and towed from the scene.

Truck arson
State police in Uniontown said someone set fire to a pickup truck owned by Erwin Pawlikowski of Mount Pleasant in Nickman Plaza along Connellsville Street at 5 a.m. Sunday.

Theft from a vehicle
Someone stole a Dewalt cordless drill and a Craftsman socket set from Stephen Keith’s truck on Sunday when it was parked in the driveway of 77 Main St., state police said.

Charges filed
Harassment citations were filed against James Cullen of Uniontown and a 17-year-old female from Uniontown after they fought at 12:30 p.m. Dec. 24 in Woodview Terrace, state police said.

Woman charged
A harassment citation was filed against Karen Boyd of Uniontown for allegedly hitting Thomas Reilly of Uniontown in the face with a rolling pin in a South Mount Vernon Avenue Extension residence at 11:55 p.m. Saturday, state police said.

Theft reported
Someone stole various compact discs from Bryan McCallum’s vehicle while it was parked in front of his home Saturday or Sunday, state police said.

Michael Hufford, 20, of Vanderbilt told state police that a woman known to him damaged his vehicle at 8 p.m. Dec. 15 on Maplewood Drive, but later decided not to press charges against her, police said.

A criminal mischief citation was filed against Natalie Sykes of Uniontown for allegedly scratching a car owned by Pamela F. Jones of Uniontown at a laundromat along South Mount Vernon Avenue at 4 p.m. Saturday, state police said.

Assault reported
Rhonda Hall, 31, of Connellsville told state police that a Connellsville man who she knows assaulted her at 5:45 p.m. Saturday along Center drive in Owensdale, but refused to file charges, police said.

Billy Joe Cooke, 18, no address given, struck a deer while driving with three passengers on Route 982 near Paradise Church at 12:10 a.m. Sunday, state police said.

Someone punctured two tires on a vehicle owned by Westley Hogan of Connellsville while it was parked on Pine Street Dec. 22 or 23, state police said.

State police said someone shot Vanessa Wilson’s dog with a BB gun on Dec. 3 at her home, causing a minor injury.

Stolen car recovered
A 1992 Ford Taurus reported stolen Sunday morning by Jodell Schoch of West Berkeley Street was recovered at 11:45 p.m. Sunday from a lot along Wood Street, city police said.

James Baker of 137 Downer Ave. told city police Sunday that a gray Diamondback mountain bike and a black Cannondale mountain bike were stolen from his garage and 40 compact discs were taken from his car between Thursday and Sunday.

Ben Hardy of 59 Evergreen Terrace told city police that three 20-inch bikes from his unlocked garage Saturday or Sunday. One bike is a chrome Huffy, one is a white “Taboo” BMX and the third is a red X-Games bike.

Kimberly Miller of 114 W. Berkeley St. told city police Sunday morning that 36 compact discs were stolen from her unlocked car during the night.

George Barker of 22 Gordon St. told city police Sunday at 2:23 a.m. that his door was kicked in and his gray safe, which contained various documents, was stolen.

Jamie Brown of 67 Wilson Ave. told city police Sunday at 3:35 a.m. that her vehicle was broken into in front of her home and a radio remote control, change and three compact discs were stolen.

Retail theft
City police said they arrested Billie Jo Shroyer, 20, of 205 N. Cottage Ave. after she was observed on Dec. 19 taking two toothbrushes from a local business and concealing them in her pants before leaving the store without paying for them.
Shroyer will appear before District Justice Robert Breakiron at a later date.

Public drunkenness
City police said they arrested Justin Rahm, 21, of 216 Houston Ave. after he was found intoxicated on Dec. 22 in the 500 Block of Snyder Street. Rahm will appear before District Justice Ronald Haggerty at a later date.
