No injuries
No injuries were reported Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle accident on Route 31 in Mount Pleasant Township, Westmoreland Township, state police said.
Police said the accident occurred at 1:15 p.m., when vehicles driven by Rosemary Pavlocak and Anthony Santore collided.

Lawnmowers stolen
Thieves stole two riding lawnmowers valued at about $20,000 Thursday or Friday from a storage shed located along a country road in Donegal Township, Westmoreland County, state police said. Stone & Co. of Connellsville own the lawnmowers.
East Huntingdon Twp.
One-car crash
A Belle Vernon woman escaped injury Thursday afternoon when she lost control of her vehicle on the wet pavement on Route 981 in East Huntingdon Township, Westmoreland County, and struck a tree, state police said.
Police said the driver, Carrie Morrow, 28, of Belle Vernon was wearing a seatbelt when the accident occurred at 4:10 p.m.

Vehicle damaged
David Miller of Mount Pleasant told state police that his vehicle was damaged between 1 and 1:20 p.m. Thursday, when it was hit by a shopping cart while it was parked in the Shop ‘N Save parking lot in Mount Pleasant Township, Westmoreland County.
Bullskin Twp.
Three injured
Three people were injured at 1 p.m. Friday, when a vehicle ran off Rich Hill Road in Bullskin Township and struck a tree, state police said.
The driver, Nathan Kurtz, 16, of Normalville, and two passengers in his vehicle, Ryan Nicholson and Kenneth Savage, whose ages and addresses were not listed, were transported to a hospital for treatment, police said. Police said no one was wearing a seatbelt.

Two injured
Two people suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident Monday along Route 31 at the intersection of Snowshoe Road in Bullskin Township, state police said.
Police said the accident occurred at 11:54 a.m. Monday, when vehicles driven by William Schneider of Acme and Herbert Foreman of Acme collided. Foreman and a passenger in his vehicle, Norma Foreman, were treated for minor injuries.

Man arrested
State police arrested Garland Terry of 23 Front St., Smithfield, Friday afternoon on charges of simple assault and harassment after he allegedly assaulted Kelly A. Terry at their Smithfield home on Friday.
Police said Garland Terry was arraigned before District Justice Defino and released to other family members, pending a hearing on July 8.

False statement
Connellsville city police reported that an accused juvenile gave a false statement at 3 a.m. Thursday, when she was interviewed in front of her mother.

Truck damaged
State police said vandals used a blunt object to smash a 1988 Ford flatbed truck on Thursday or Friday while it was parked at Uniontown Equipment at the Route 119 industrial park. The Robert C. Burns Co. of Washington owns the vehicle.

Man cited
State police cited Joseph Tobias, 44, of Fifth Street, Hiller, with harassment after he allegedly attempted to strike Dana Tobias, 42, in her head during an argument at the couple’s home on Tuesday night.

Woman injured
Amy Anderson, 36, of 514 Front St., Brownsville, was injured at 5:42 a.m. Saturday, when she was traveling along Route 201 and lost control of her vehicle while negotiating a curve, state police said.
Police said Anderson was transported to Highlands Hospital in Connellsville, where she was treated for injuries.

Man charged
State police charged Lee Patrick McDonald, 28, of Uledi with terroristic threats for allegedly pointing a .20 gauge long barrel rifle at Tina Marie Wingard’s head and threatening to harm the 32-year-old Uledi woman at a Route 21 location Saturday around 11:30 p.m.
McDonald was arraigned before District Justice Mike Defino and remanded to Fayette County Prison on $35,000 bond.

Traffic crash
State police said Benjamin Rayoni, 72, was driving northbound on Route 119 in front of Laurel Mall when his car struck a utility pole Saturday around 10:41 a.m. Police said Rayoni was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.

Theft
State police said someone drove all-terrain vehicles into the Tub Run camping area at the Youghiogheny Lake in Henry Clay Township Sunday around 1:30 a.m. and took a cooler from the camp site of David Tinkey of Manor, a duffel bag filled with clothing from the camp site of Sarah Bittner of Liberty Borough and a lantern from the camp site of John Calio of Pittsburgh.
Anyone with information is asked to call state police at the Uniontown station.

Charges pending
Burglary charges are pending by state police against two 11-year-old males for taking two bicycles each from storage sheds along Easter Street in Holiday Mobile Court sometime Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Police listed the victims in the burglaries as Brenda Lee Ledgerton, 39, of Uniontown and Joseph Daniel Cole, 65, of Uniontown.

Harassment cited
Nicole M. Ritz, 21, of Uniontown was cited with harassment by state police for allegedly punching an unnamed 15-year-old female in the face and several times in the head at 37 Lemon Wood Acres Saturday at 4:30 a.m.

Cruelty to animals
A 28-year-old adult known to state police but not named was charged with cruelty to animals for abandoning a dog at his former residence in Bullskin Township Sunday around 11:41 a.m. Police said the animal had been neglected for some time and showed signs of malnourishment.

Theft reported
State police said someone entered a vehicle at the Camp Carmel area of Kingan Hill Road in Dunbar Township sometime Saturday between 6 and 7 p.m. and took two purses and a cellular telephone belonging to Kristy Mills of Warrendale and Kerri Taraeoletti of Greensburg.

Criminal mischief
Someone smashed the front and passenger side windows, and the passenger side mirror of a vehicle at 431 Imel Road in Saltlick Township owned by Lawrence J. Rule, 71, of Connellsville on Sunday at 2:10 a.m., said state police. The suspect then fled the scene. Damage is estimated at $725.

Assault probed
State police said a 14-year-old juvenile male from Republic and a 13-year-old juvenile male from Addison fought at Tuskegee Terrace in South Union Township Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
The 14-year-old received moderate injuries. The 14-year-old juvenile will be charged with harassment and the 13-year-old with simple assault.
Charges will be filed at the Fayette County Juvenile Probation Office.

Criminal mischief
Someone spray-painted the side of the Martha Lane, Holiday Mobile Court, home of Terena Lynne Walters, 28, of Uniontown sometime 10 p.m. Friday night and 6 a.m. Saturday morning, said state police.

Chief of Police William F. Lewis issued the departmental activity report for June in which officers responded to 134 calls with a breakdown being: two assault, six burglary alarms, five assist other police departments, one animal control, three burglary investigations, four criminal mischief, 12 disturbance calls, seven domestic violence, two harassment, one missing person, four motor vehicle accidents, 21 other, three information calls, 51 requests to speak to an officer, one stolen vehicle, one suspicious person, five thefts and five traffic violations. Also during this period, officers lodged the following charges: one public drunkenness, two driving without a license, 11 traffic violations, one open container of alcohol, and one trespassing.

Inmate dead
Superintendent William S. Stickman III reported that inmate John F. Mooney, 42, died at the Greene County Memorial Hospital at 11:30 p.m. Sunday after being rushed from SCI Greene in a state of medical distress.
Mooney was sentenced in Philadelphia County to a term of life imprisonment for his conviction on a second-degree murder charge.
He had been at SCI Greene since July 18, 2001.

Warrants served
Constables, along with Redstone and Brownsville police, participated in a warrant sweep Saturday in conjunction with District Justice Mike Defino Jr.
A total of 48 warrants were served, with $2,088.65 in fines paid. Most of the warrants served were for traffic and other non-criminal complaints.

Two-vehicle accident
City police responded to an accident at 7:22 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Nassau and Gilmore streets involving a city garbage truck driven by Allan B. David Jr., 45, of Downer Avenue, Uniontown, and a car driven by Harold W. Leichliter, 75, of Water Street, Uniontown.
No injuries were reported. The truck was not damaged and the car had minor damages.

Accident reported
City police said Helen Duley, 61, of 29 W. Elm St., Fairchance, and Samuel L Cortis, 46, of 1734 Lexington Ave., Uniontown, were involved in an accident on Morgantown Street at Berkeley Street Friday at 3:18 p.m.
No injuries were reported. Duley’s car was severely damaged and Cortis’ pickup truck was moderately damaged.

City police responded to 25 Edgemont Drive at 11 p.m. Sunday for a report of a stolen license plate. Police said Eva Mayher reported the theft of her Pennsylvania plate ESH-6782.

David W. Gernot told city police that his black-and-white, 26-inch Schwinn Impact mountain bike was stolen from Shell’s Union 76 gas station at 53 W. Fayette St., where he works, Sunday night.

City police received a complaint about a suspicious vehicle from William Pillar of Jacob Street at 10:15 a.m. Sunday.
Police had a silver Pontiac Sunbird bearing Pennsylvania registration EDX-8161 towed from his yard.

Drug arrest
City police executed a search warrant at 64 Askren St. at 6:50 a.m. Saturday and arrested James P. Brown, 25, who was staying at that residence after finding 95 grams of cocaine and $13,100 in his car.
Officer Jason A. Cox said Brown was arraigned by District Justice Michael J. Defino Jr. on charges of possession of cocaine and possession with intent to deliver, and committed to the Fayette County Jail in lieu of $30,000 cash bond. Cox said the cocaine, which was contained in four baggies, and the money were in a duffel bag in the back seat.
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for July 8 before Uniontown District Justice Mark Blair. Officers from the Fayette County Drug Task Force and agents from the Attorney General’s office assisted.

City police and the state police bureau of liquor control enforcement officers cited three people during an underage drinking check at five city bars Sunday night.
Kelli Andrea, 20, of 61 E. Main St., Uniontown, was cited for underage drinking at the Highland House, Rachel Pastorius, 20, of 1135 National Pike Drive, Uniontown, was cited for carrying false identification at the Eagle’s Nest and Myron Moore, 35, of 922 Moore St., Republic, was cited for disorderly conduct at Johnny D’s.

City police responded to 22 Race St. were Benjamin Kikilo’s car had a broken windshield, broken doorpost, scratched side window and two slashed tires.
The incident was reported at 4:23 a.m. Sunday.

City police cited John Zack, 27, of 80 Lemon St. for disorderly conduct and harassment at 4:46 p.m. Saturday after he allegedly pushed and slapped Kristy Check.
Police said he also yelled obscenities.

Man cited, jailed
City police cited Michael Uhor, 38, of 343 Krolic St., Belle Vernon, for public drunkenness after finding him in a doorway at 301/2 N. Gallatin Ave. at 9:55 p.m. Saturday.
He was arraigned by Uniontown District Justice Mark Blair and committed to the Fayette County Prison in lieu of $300 bail.

City police cited Miranda Smith, 22, of 94 Collins Ave. with disorderly conduct after receiving a complaint about loud music coming from her apartment at 11:19 p.m. Saturday.

Fire extinguished
A Sunday morning fire in a furnace room at Fort Mason Village was extinguished by Southwest EMS personnel and borough police.
Police said fumes from a lawn mower that was hot from recent use and was placed in the furnace room might have ignited the fire. The ambulance crew used a fire extinguisher and put out the fire before it could spread from the room, police said.

Mobile home fire
A mobile home at 1204 Pittsburgh Road owned by Kenneth Delarenzo was destroyed in a Saturday night fire.
Steve Vojacek, assistant chief of the West Leisenring Volunteer Fire Department, said the fire is under investigation by state police fire marshals.
He said Delarenzo lives there with his wife and children, but he didn’t know if they were home when the fire started. Nobody was injured, he said.
The North Union Township Volunteer Fire Department also responded, while the Hopwood, Farmington, Dunbar and Smock fire departments were on stand-by. Uniontown EMS also responded to the fire.

Two-vehicle accident
Township police said Frederick Hart, 44, of Dunbar and Andrew Williams, 30, of Waynesburg were involved in an accident on Route 40 west in Farmington at 5:15 p.m. Friday.
Hart was treated at Uniontown Hospital and Williams was listed in good condition Monday at Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Retail theft
State police in Uniontown said Mark John Brandt, 44, of Youngwood was charged with retail theft for allegedly driving off without paying for $5 in gas at Speedy Meedy’s on June 26.

Juvenile missing
State police in Uniontown said Timothy Patrick Grace, 16, was last seen by his family at 4 p.m. Sunday along Route 201.
He was allegedly going swimming in the Youghiogheny River, but it is not known if he actually went swimming, police said.
Grace is described as white, 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 170 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.
He was reportedly wearing a white bandana, no shirt, baggie blue jeans over a pair of shorts and white sneakers.
He might have been riding a gray 2-inch BMX bicycle. Anybody who saw him or has any information should call state police at 724-439-7111.

Hit-and-run accident
State police in Uniontown said an unknown driver hit and damaged a parked car owned by Ami Schiffbaurer of Mansfield, Ohio, at 12:15 p.m. Saturday, when it was parked in the Shop ‘N Save lot along Old McClellandtown Road.
