Charles L. Newcomer
Charles L. Newcomer, 64, of Vanderbilt, Pa., died Thursday, July 4, 2002, in Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant, Pa. He was born April 18, 1938, in Leisenring, Pa., son of James Newcomer and Stella Ansell Newcomer.
Mr. Newcomer was a graduate of the former Dunbar Township High School Class of 1956.
He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and a former Steelworker who had been employed at United States Steel Corporation’s Christy Park and also Irvin Works.
He was Protestant by faith.
Two brothers, William and Richard Newcomer, one sister, Marlene Sue Newcomer, and his parents preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Joyce Leasure Newcomer; one daughter, Pamela Newcomer at home; one brother, David Newcomer and his wife, Karen, of East Berlin, Pa.; seven sisters: Virginia Zimmerman and her husband, Charles, of Dunbar R.D.1, Pa., Elizabeth Ritz and her husband, John, of Dover, Pa., Nancy Snidemiller and her husband, Robert, of Cartersville, Georgia, Jean Whetsel and her husband, Donald, of Connellsville, Pa., Bonnie Fike of Dover, Pa., Judy Butler and her husband, Jim, of West Leisenring, Pa., and Janice Lint and her husband, Donald, of Dickerson Run, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 East Green Street, Connellsville, Pa., today from 7 to 9 p.m., Saturday from 2 to 9 p.m. where Funeral Services will be held Sunday, July 7, (time will be announced).
Interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville, Pa.
