Vehicle taken
William Henry Howes Jr. of Fredericktown told state police that on July 1 he loaned his black and silver 1989 Chevy Cavalier Z24, bearing PA registration EVR2219, to a 6-foot-tall white man with black hair and a thin build, but the man hadn’t returned as of Saturday.

Girl killed
Washington County Coroner Tim Warco reported that Katherine Grace Bell, 14, of Bentleyville died as a result of injuries suffered after the vehicle in which she was a passenger struck a utility pole on North Main Street Extension, Chartiers Township, at 2:15 a.m. Sunday. Warco stated that speed and alcohol were a factor in the accident.

Gabriel Brother’s store on Route 21 told state police that a pair of Nike “Low Post” shoes were removed from the store at 5:20 p.m. Saturday.

Gary Bowlen of Uniontown told state police that his 1984 Chevrolet Corvette was struck in the left front corner while parked at Lowe’s at 4:30 p.m. Friday.

State police said no injuries were reported when James P. Brown, 25, of Morgantown, W.Va., wrecked at the intersection of Main and Nassau streets at 4:06 a.m. Thursday.

James Hackney Jr., 29, of Connellsville told state police that someone broke into his Jeep and stole a set of golf clubs and a cassette player on Wheeler Bottom Road, near the Youghiogheny River Trail, between 5 and 6 p.m. Tuesday.

State police said an abandoned Nissan king cab four-wheel-drive vehicle was found on fire along the railroad tracks north of Liberty Street at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Man harassed
Jeffrey Lucas of Smithfield told state police that at various times between Wednesday and Friday he received obscene and threatening calls on his cellular phone.

Fence damaged
Arthur Grimes of Lake Lynn told state police that a section of privacy fence was damaged when an unknown motorist backed into it between midnight and 4:30 a.m. Sunday.

Three injured
State police said drivers Sharen Wandell of Hopwood and Bernadette Glisan of Greensburg, as well as Glisan’s passenger, Isaiha Glisan, were injured in a two-vehicle accident the intersection of Route 40 and Bennington Road at 5:20 p.m. Tuesday.

Hopwood Hardware told state police that between June 30 and July 1, the windows of two rear doors were knocked out.

Amy Kaider of Uniontown told state police that between 5 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. Wednesday, her window was broken.
