Local church announces Harvest of Hope in October

2 min read

Faith Fellowship Church, Oliver Road, Uniontown, announces it will host it’s sixth annual Harvest of Hope in October. It is a non-denominational fund-raiser designed to provide help and hope for the less fortunate in the Uniontown area through various civic organizations. Harvest of Hope will take place at the church Oct. 2-6 at 7 p.m. with gospel music and a message of hope. On Saturday, Oct. 5, there will be a full day of gospel music only from noon to 7 p.m. The church will also sponsor a yard sale, bake sale and have hot food and cold drinks available all day.

“We invite anyone who would like to help in this worthwhile cause by selling ads, buying ads, donating food, baked goods or yard sale items of just by attending all the services,’ officials said.

In the past, Harvest of Hope has helped Fayette County Community Action Food Bank, The Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, City Mission and Common Ground. This year, Harvest of Hope is helping abused women and children through the Family Abuse Council. All money raised through the sale of ads in the program booklet and offerings taken during the services Wednesday through Sunday will go to the Family Abuse Council.

Officials said, “This project is made possible by the generosity of many local people, businesses and churches who purchase ads in our program booklet and, of course, the local gospel singing groups such as Abraham’s Promise, Free Spirit, The Riffles and The Choz’n 1’z. Local pastors also donate their time and talents during the Harvest of Hope revival and, of course, the workers who give generously of their time.’
