Mabel Emily Schmidtke Mueller, 91, of Pittsburgh, Pa., died Wednesday, July 10, 2002, in the Baptist Homes Residence, Western Pennsylvania, Mt. Lebanon. She was born January 13, 1910, in Camrose, Alberta, Canada, a daughter of the late Fred and Rose Weiser Schmidtke.

Mrs. Mueller was a member of the First Baptist Church of Washington.

She was preceded in death by her husband John A. Mueller; a daughter, Ardeth Mueller Groom and a brother, Edwin Schmidtke.

Surviving are a daughter, Rose Marie Mueller Durig of New Martinsville, W.Va.; a sister Mary Weber of Holland, MI; six grandchildren, John K. Groom of Atlanta, GA; Mark A. Groom of Lenior City, Tenn.; Kathryn Groom Haines, Keller, Texas; Scott D. Groom of Canonsburg, Pa.; W. Brock Durig of Servern Park, Md.; and J. Jarrod Durig of Washington and ten great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today in the PIATT & BARNHILL FUNERAL HOME, 420 Locust Avenue, Washington, Pa. where services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday with Rev. Michael Hall officiating.

Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Great Bethel Baptist Church, Uniontown, Pa.
