Benjamin “Ben” Francis Haigh
Benjamin “Ben” Francis Haigh, 64, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Friday morning, July 12, 2002, in his home with his loving family by his side. He was born August 14, 1937, in Lambert, Fayette County, Pa., the son of Sam Haigh and Kathryn Murphy Haigh.
“Ben” had been employed for 31 years at United States Steel Corporation’s Clairton Steel Mill and was employed for 13 years in the Laurel Highland School District in the Maintenance Department.
He was President of the A.F.&M. Music Union 596, a Drummer for The Jolly Slovenes Polka Band, and a former member of Uniontown Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 47 Band.

His infant daughter, Karen Sue, his brother, Sam Haigh, and parents preceded him in death.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 42 years, Linda Amos Haigh; two children: Cindy Haigh and Tandy Rice of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Roger A. Haigh and his wife, Tammy, of Belle Vernon, Pa.; grandchildren: Jason, Josh, Hannah, and Hope; two brothers: Tom Haigh of Reading, Pa., and John Haigh and his wife, Jessie, of Maryland, two sisters: Leola Ardabell of Uniontown, Pa., and Kathy Palo of Collier, Pa.; several nieces and nephews; and numerous friends.
The Family will receive Friends in the STEPHEN E. KEZMARSKY III FUNERAL HOME AT 71 PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE, UNIONTOWN, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, July 15, until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with Rev. Michael Shepard officiating.
Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Uniontown.
Visitation was also held Saturday evening from 7 to 9 p.m.
