Connellsville Teen missing
Police are seeking the whereabouts of Candice M. Ricks, 17, of 218 N. Seventh St., Connellsville, who was last seen by her family June 26.
Ricks is a light-skinned, 5-foot-8-inch black girl with brown hair and eyes and weighing 125 pounds.
Police said she might be in the company of Arthur Simms, 19, of 61 Lemon Wood Acres, Uniontown. Simms is a 5-foot-7-inch black man, weighing about 160 pounds. Simms, police said, uses the nickname “P.”
The two may be traveling in a silver Dodge Neon and could be in the Fayette County or Pittsburgh areas.

State police said indecent exposure charges were filed against Edward Charles Wearne of Hopwood for allegedly exposing his genitals on three occasions to John and Teresa McLaughlin of Uniontown on May 11 in the Howard Johnson Apartments.

Connellsville police filed the following charges in the following cases:
– Disorderly conduct against Joseph R. O’Hern, 56, of 556 E. Crawford Ave. after he allegedly was found creating a disturbance at a South Pittsburgh Street business July 3.
– Confinement of dogs against Tyronne Brown, 24, of 505 E. Crawford Ave. after he allegedly failed to control his pit bull June 30 along East Crawford Avenue.
– Public drunkenness against Matthew T. Beck, 27, of 533 Morrell Ave. after he allegedly was found drunk June 23 along South Pittsburgh Street.
– Harassment against Tara Castor, 21, of 314 E. South St. after she allegedly pushed a woman to the ground and spat on her July 2 along East South Street. Police did not identify the victim.
– Theft by unlawful taking against Stephanie Johnston, 22, of 13 Gibson Terrace after she allegedly stole $130 from another woman’s purse June 23. Police did not identify the victim.
– Criminal mischief against Kimberly Barnhart, 40, of 630 Highland Ave. after she allegedly punctured two tires on a vehicle June 27 at a Water Street business.
– Public drunkenness against Vernee Durr, 41, of 1071/2 W. Apple St. after she allegedly was found drunk and creating a disturbance July 1 along East Fayette Street.
– Public drunkenness against Robin Lynn Black, 35, of 603 W. Crawford Ave. after she allegedly was found drunk and creating a disturbance July 2 along West Crawford Avenue.

Report released
Fayette County Sheriff Gary D. Brownfield reported a total of four services requested through his office in June. The following is a statistical breakdown of office activity for the month.
The office served 71 complaints and summons, 35 landlord and tenants/order for possessions, 41 protection from abuse cases, 27 mortgage foreclosure complaints, 22 foreign writ services, 23 personal property executions and 12 writs of possession.
The office received 182 requests for new and renewed gun permits.
Ten real estate sales, services and postings were listed.
Brownfield said the office served eight bench warrants and transported 41 prisoners, traveling 3,534 miles.
Personnel spent 160 hours on courthouse security, the same on security for the 911 center, 80 hours for miscellaneous security and 110 hours for community relations.
The office forwarded $11,596.07 to the county and listed $10,637.13 as the amount in services not reimbursed to the sheriff’s office.
Brownfield has provided a monthly breakdown of the office’s activity and financial standing since he took office.

Woman sentenced
U.S. Attorney Mary Beth Buchanan said Heather Ritsko, 28, of 775 Maxwell Ave., LaBelle, was sentenced in federal court in Pittsburgh to three years’ probation for her conviction for selling, exchanging or transferring counterfeit U.S. currency and passing and possessing counterfeit U.S. obligations or securities.
U.S. District Judge William L. Standish imposed the sentence.
According to information presented to the court by assistant U.S. attorney Almon S. Burke Jr., Ritsko transferred counterfeit currency to co-defendant Jeremy Lent while being under the surveillance of the U.S. Secret Service. Lent has already been sentenced to probation for his role in the offense.
Buchanan commended the Secret Service and the Luzerne Township police for their help in the investigation.

Transition scheduled
State police at the Belle Vernon station will switch to a new telephone service provider Monday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. The transition had originally been scheduled for July 1. The station’s telephone number will remain 724-929-6262. During this transition, emergency callers unable to reach the station should call 911 or the Uniontown station at 724-439-7111.

Hit-and-run reported
Andrew J. Arnold, 18, of 393 Narrows Road, Connellsville, told state police that a hit-and-run motorist struck his vehicle Thursday at 11:15 p.m. on Narrows Road. Police said Arnold was injured but was not treated.

Two hurt in crash
According to police, Terry L. Rowe, 25, of 110 N. Manor St., Connellsville, was taken to Highlands Hospital in Connellsville and Stanley Leighty, 38, of 495 White Road, Normalville, was flown to UPMC-Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh after a two-vehicle accident Friday on Quail Hill Road.

Melvin Edward DeWitt, 44, of Vanderbilt was cited for harassment Friday at 9:30 a.m. on College Avenue after he allegedly grabbed William Brad Dewitt, 27, of South Connellsville by the throat and pushed him to the ground, state police said.

Hit and run
Two white women in a maroon P.T. Cruiser struck a vehicle owned by Rena Leone of Uniontown Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Goodwill parking lot at Uniontown Mall and fled, state police said.

According to state police, Kenneth Edward Ohler of Smithfield was not injured after he drove off Collier Road, near Langley Road, and hit a tree at 10:33 p.m. Thursday.

Collision
Someone hit a van belonging to James Edward Scott, 44, of Uniontown at the Lowe’s parking lot at 7 p.m. Thursday and fled the scene, state police said. Anyone with information on this incident should call trooper J. Nemes at 724-439-7111.

Car accident
State police said that neither Charles Hixon, 24, of Coolspring Street, Uniontown, nor his passengers – William Pahula, 28, of Rose Drive, Smithfield; Doval Dugan, 18, of Stewart Avenue, Uniontown; and Kent Wilson, 21, of Walnut Street Uniontown – were injured when the vehicle he was driving struck the Precision Heating Building on Gallatin Avenue at Hogsett Lane at 8:14 p.m. on Monday.

Car fire
A vehicle belonging to Walter Waychuff, 53, of Waynesburg caught fire in Fayette County while he was traveling south on a legislative route at 5:05 p.m. Friday, said police. Waychuff was not injured.
