Charges filed

Police have filed misdemeanor charges against a township man accused of shooting and killing a German shepherd with an aluminum arrow.

Joseph A. Glowacki, 21, of 167 Medsgar Road is charged with cruelty to animals stemming from the June 17 incident.

According to the report filed by state police, Glowacki shot the 10-month-old dog in the chest after he found it with his dog that was restrained on his property.

Eugene Butler of 677 Pleasant Valley Road, also in Bullskin Township, owns the dog.

Two witnesses told police they saw Glowacki with a bow and arrow and recalled hearing a dog yelp shortly after seeing the dog in the neighborhood. The dog was later taken to veterinary clinic, but later died.

Arson is suspected in a fire that destroyed a vacant residence at 25 Jeffrey Lane at 4:52 a.m. Saturday, state police said. Police did not identify the owner

Alan R. Williams, 26, of Mill Run struck a tree while driving on Dinnerbell-Ohiopyle Road on Friday at 11:30 a.m., state police said.

Mailbox damaged

Someone damaged a mailbox belonging to Louis Edward Jacobs, 56, of Connellsville between noon Wednesday and noon Thursday on Breakneck Road, state police said.

Man injured

Peter Kaperak of Perryopolis was injured after being thrown from his vehicle Saturday at 12:50 p.m. on Cemetery Road, state police said. Kaperak was trying to close his driver’s side door, which had opened as he rounded a curve, according to police.

Tools stolen

Two table saws, a chain saw, a weed trimmer and a leaf blower were stolen from a shed belonging to Ross Howard Swords of 120 Second Ave., Brownsville, Saturday between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m., said state police.

Car accident

James Peters, 66, of Star Junction was not injured in an accident on Arch Street, Star Junction, Friday at 8:59 p.m. involving two other cars that were parked at the time, state police said.

Woman hurt in crash

Lyna Hone of Connellsville was injured in a two-vehicle accident Wednesday at 6:15 p.m. on Route 119, state police said. The other driver, Raymond Zeoek of Latrobe, was not injured.

Woman harassed

Heather L. Waterhouse of Mount Pleasant told state police that she was being harassed and stalked on Maple Street Friday at 1 a.m. Charges are pending, police said.

Doreen F. Price, 46, of Newell and passenger Tammy Lee Uhor, 44, of Perryopolis were not injured in a one-car accident Thursday at 1:20 p.m. on Brownsville Road, state police said.

Someone damaged the bill collector of a Pepsi vending machine belonging to Sara Dukman, 47, of Brownsville outside Dukman Distributors, state police said.

Purse stolen

A black purse belonging to Candy Laugherty of Chestnut Street, Connellsville, was stolen Wednesday between 6 and 8 a.m. along the Youghiogheny River, state police said. The purse contained a checkbook, six credit cards and $95 in cash, according to police.

Man cited

State police cited Melvin Edward Dewitt, 44, of Vanderbilt with harassment after he allegedly grabbed William Brad Dewitt, 27, of South Connellsville by the throat and pushed him to the ground at a location on College Ave. at 9:30 a.m. Friday.

Woman escapes injury

Autumn Rosiek of Grindstone was not injured in a car accident on Rehoboth Church Road Wednesday at 6:25 p.m., state police said.

Gasoline stolen

Two white men about 20 years old in a green Subaru sedan stole $15.54 in gasoline from the Star Junction Gulf station Wednesday at 1:20 a.m., state police said. The vehicle may have had a West Virginia registration, according to police.

Four chain saws were stolen from a shed belonging to Harrison Cockrell, 69, of 75 Curfew Road, Perryopolis, state police said.

Burglary

Four fishing poles, one radio/CD player and a BB gun were stolen from the residence of Albert John Null, 56, of 26 Sycamore Drive, Smock, Tuesday between 1:30 p.m. and 2:40 p.m., state police said.

Two injured

Harold Angel of Connellsville and Marisa Axel of Smithton sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of a legislative route and Route 981 Tuesday at 4:15 p.m., said state police.

Woman charged

Verna Lynn Uphold, 34, of Scottdale was charged with making false reports to police after she allegedly falsely reported that her boyfriend assaulted her April 28 at 7:37 p.m., said state police.

Items stolen

John Roger Stamo, 49, of 203 Whyel Ave. told state police that someone stole several items from his garage between Friday 8:30 p.m. and Saturday 10:30a.m.

Criminal mischief

Charlotte Carey, 54, of 48 Bennington Road told state police that someone blew up her mailbox at 3:20 p.m. Saturday.
