Charles G. Billy
Charles G. Billy, age 59, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Friday, July 19, 2002, in the Uniontown Hospital. He was born December 13, 1942, son of Joseph Billy of Uniontown, Pa., and the late Ruth Charles Billy.
Mr. Billy graduated from the former Redstone High School and was a Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict who served with the United States Air Force.
He was a member of General George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 103 in Hopwood, North Union V.F.W. Post 8543, Uniontown American Legion Post 51, Catholic War Veterans, and Vietnam Veterans Inc. of Fayette County.
He was a Nationwide Service Officer for many of the service organizations.
In addition to his mother, Ruth Charles Billy, he was preceded in death by a sister, Gloria Simensky.
In addition to his father, Joseph Billy, he is survived by four children: Constance and her husband, Robert Kuhns, of Greensburg, Pa., Charles G. Billy II and his wife, Kathryn, of Meyersdale, Pa., Scott A. Billy and his wife, Amanda, of Atlanta, Georgia, and Patricia Billy of Atlanta, Georgia; seven grandchildren: Nathaniel Smith, Angela Smith, Scott Billy Jr., Emily Blubaugh, Reina Kuhns, Zachary Billy, and Zane Billy; a brother, Joseph Billy of Louisville, Kentucky; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his former wife, Shirley Billy of Atlanta, Georgia.
Friends will be received in the DOLFI FUNERAL HOME, 136 North Gallatin Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., this evening from 7 to 9 p.m., Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, July 23, until 9:30 a.m. at which time a Blessing Service will be held.
A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 10 a.m. in St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, North Mount Vernon Avenue, Uniontown.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa., where Military Rites will be accorded by Vietnam Veterans Inc. of Fayette County.
