Ruby C. Newmyer Rhodes, 86, of Vestaburg, Pa., died Saturday, July 20, 2002, in Washington Hospital, Washington, Pa. She was born December 1, 1915, daughter of Burt Newmyer and Mary Ellen Cramer Newmyer.

Ruby graduated in 1933 from the former Dunbar Township High School, Dunbar, Pa.

She was a member of Fredericktown Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.

Mrs. Rhodes was a Custodian for the Beth-Center School District for 10 years before retiring in 1984.

Her husband, Harold E. Rhodes Sr., died February 6, 1976. Also deceased are a son, George Rhodes (June 4, 1995), grandson, William Mason (January 11, 2002), brothers, Clyde Newmyer and Bryan Newmyer, sisters, Grace Eadie, Ruth Hainer, Lola Mosser, and parents.

She is survived by eight children: Dolores and her husband Richard Mason, Vestaburg, Pa., Harold Rhodes and his wife Dorothy, Silver Springs, Maryland, Robert Rhodes and his wife Carol, Waynesburg, Pa., Mary Ellen Neel, Germantown, Maryland, Lola Bowers, Vestaburg, Pa., Cindy and her husband Millard Doriguzzi, Fredericktown, Pa., June Hartman, Canonsburg, Pa., and Mary McDole, Washington, Pa.

Family and Friends will be received in the GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME, 42 Bank Street, Fredericktown, Pa., today and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where Services will be held Tuesday, July 23, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Scott Gallagher officiating.

Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park.
