Mary K. Skocik Balchak (Balcsak), 91, of Uniontown, Pa., died on Saturday, July 20, 2002, in Bristol Manor Personal Care Home, Uniontown, Pa. She was born on March 12, 1911, in Czechoslovakia, a daughter of the late Andrew Skocik and Kathryn Anthony Skocik.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Balchak in 1968, and two brothers, John Skocik and Andrew Skocik.

Mary was a member of St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown and Saint Mary’s Altar Rosary Society.

Surviving are three sisters: Ann Skocik of East Chicago, Indiana, Kathryn Skovran of Tower Hill Two, Pa., and Veronica Gebe of Uniontown, Pa.; and a brother, Edward Skocik of Uniontown, Pa.

Friends will be received in the HAKY FUNERAL HOMES INC., A Dignity Memorial Provider, 139 West Fayette Street, Uniontown, Pa., on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, July 23, until 12:30 p.m. when Prayers will be said.

A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 1 p.m. in St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, North Mount Vernon Avenue, Uniontown, with the Rev. Micah Kozoil as Celebrant.

Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Uniontown.
