Frances E. Czuchan DeCarlo, 72, of Newboro, Pa., passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2002, in Uniontown Hospital. She was born May 28, 1930, in Edenborn, Pa., a daughter of the late Joseph Czuchan and Teofila Oshinsky Czuchan.

Frances was a retired Cook from Menallen Elementary School.

She was a member of The Church of The Madonna in Cardale, Pa., for 44 years and St. Thomas Church of Footedale, Pa., for the last four years. She belonged to The Confraternity of Christian Mothers, the Rosary Society of The Church of The Madonna, and was a member of the Uniontown Red Raider Band Boosters for 17 years.

She was also an avid bowler at the Fairbank Bowling Center for 40 years.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Paul Joseph Pupo, a sister, Josephine “Jay” Guarino, and brothers, Edward and Joseph Czuchan.

Surviving are her husband of 46 years, Pierino “Fudge” DeCarlo; children: Vincent DeCarlo and wife, Loretta, of Allison, Pa., Gina Pupo of Harrisburg, Pa., Robert DeCarlo and wife, Saudia, of Hershey, Pa., Michael DeCarlo at home, and Richard DeCarlo of Filbert, Pa.; nine grandchildren: Dominic and Charles DeCarlo, Anthony, Stephanie and Matthew Pupo, Nathaniel, Nicholas and Alaina DeCarlo, and Brandi DeCarlo; sisters: Marcella Archual and husband, Frank Jr., of Akron, Ohio, and Jennie Machnik of Newboro, Pa.; and a brother, Frank Czuchan and wife, Irene, of Media, Pa.

Friends will be received in the ROBERT T. KISH FUNERAL HOME INC., 20 North Mill Street, New Salem, Pa., today and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, July 27, until 10:30 a.m. when a Prayer Service will be held.

A Funeral Mass follows at 11 a.m. in St. Thomas Church, Footedale, with Rev. Fr. James L. Popochock and Rev. Fr. Wesley Mash as Concelebrants.

Interment will be in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.

The family requests that no flowers be sent to the funeral home.

A Parish Wake Service will be held today at 3 p.m.
