James W. Staszel
James W. “Ossie” Staszel, 68, of Mount Pleasant, Pa., died Tuesday, July 23, 2002, as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born May 3, 1934, in Dunbar Township, Fayette County, Pa., son of Jacob E. Staszel and Genevieve Smith Staszel.
He was a member of Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church in Mount Pleasant and retired from Anchor Hocking Cap Corporation in South Connellsville, Pa.
He was a Veteran of the United States Army who served in Germany and a social member of Mount Pleasant Fireman’s Club.
He was an avid High School Sports Fan, especially girls basketball, with his favorite team being the Lady Vikings.
He also loved to listen to Polka Music.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Staszel, in 1967 and his parents.
He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Dorothy “Dot” Rudnik Staszel; five brothers and five sisters: Paul Staszel and his wife, Pauline, of Connellsville, Pa., Mary Staszel Miller of Little Summit, Pa., Virginia “Lucy” Staszel Nicholson of Monarch, Pa., John “Jack” Staszel and his wife, Billene, of Connellsville, Pa., Bernadette Staszel Rauco and her husband, Louis Rauco, of Harrisburg, Pa., Ruthie Staszel Heefner of Harrisburg, Pa., Genevieve “Gennie” Staszel Schiffer of Lewisburg, Pa., Donald Staszel and his wife, Emma, of Scottdale, Pa., Ronald Staszel and his wife, Mary Jo, of Little Washington, Pa., Thomas Staszel and his wife, Suzanne, of Little Summit, Pa.; and numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Family and Friends will be received at the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 406 East Washington Street, Mount Pleasant, Pa., today from 1 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, July 26, from 9 a.m. until the Blessing Service at 9:30 a.m.
A Funeral Mass follows at 10 am. in Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church, Mount Pleasant, wit Rev. Fr. Michael Matusak as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church Cemetery where Military Rites will be accorded.
Visitation was also held Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
