Helen Frances Waligura, 83, of Uniontown, Pa., died peacefully on Wednesday, July 24, 2002, in Mount Macrina Manor, Uniontown, Pa. She was born on September 24, 1918, in Uniontown, Pa.

Mrs. Waligura was a member of St. John The Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church and was a graduate of Uniontown High School Class of 1936.

She retired from the Fayette County Treasurer’s Office where she was employed as a Clerk for many years.

The memory of her love, her strength of character, and especially her divine wit will always be remembered and cherished.

Her mother, Elizabeth Fecek, husband, John R. Waligura Sr., and a son, John R. Waligura Jr., preceded her in death.

Surviving are a son, Dennis Michael Waligura of Centreville, Virginia; a daughter-in-law, Anita Waligura of Uniontown, Pa.; six grandchildren: Troy R. Waligura, Traci A. Huffman and Treavor J. Waligura all of Uniontown, Pa., Michael J. Waligura of Cincinncati, Ohio, Susan Ashley Nichols of Roanoke, Virginia, and Jill Christine Waligura of Centreville, Virginia; and nine great grandchildren.

Visitation will be privately held for the family.

Friends may attend a Divine Liturgy today, in St. John The Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, East Main Street, Uniontown, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Fr. Innokentij Stikhin as celebrant.

Interment will follow in St. John’s Byzantine Cemetery, Hopwood, Pa.
