Advisory issued
PennDOT District 12 alerts motorists that a section of Bute Road in North Union Township was closed for road repairs at 3 a.m. Friday, and the road will remain closed until 6 a.m. Monday, weather permitting.
The section of Bute Road that will be closed extends from the intersection of Gallatin Avenue to the northbound on and off ramps of the Route 119 bypass. The closure is due to unforeseen road base failure on Bute Road and resurfacing. During the closure, a marked detour will be in place.
Car cruise scheduled
A classic car cruise will be held at the Arctic Delite on Route 51 in Franklin Township from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday. Proceeds will benefit the Fayette County chapter of the American Cancer Society.
Participants must pay a $5 fee for vehicle registration. A wooden plaque will be given to any participant who has collected at least four dash plaques. A grand prize trophy will also be awarded for the season. In addition, a Chinese auction will be held.
