Evelyn R. Bowers Salipek, 88, of Uniontown, Pa., died Saturday, July 27, 2002, in Bristol Manor. She was born October 6, 1913, in Coolspring, Fayette County, Pa., daughter of Andy Bowers and Edith Scott Bowers.

Mrs. Salipek worked for many years as a Cashier at the Masontown (Pa.) A & P Store and attended McClellandtown Free Methodist Church.

Two brothers, Clell and Glenn Bowers, three sisters, Alverda Franks, Mildred Trupkovich, Dolores Bowers, and parents preceded her in death.

Surviving are a sister, Orpha Wycinsky and her husband, George, of Uniontown; three brothers: Delbert Bowers and his wife, Margaret, of Fairchance, Pa., Paul Bowers and his wife, Kathryn, of Masontown Pa., and Elroy Bowers and his wife, Doris, of Uniontown; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the JEROME W. SHELL FUNERAL HOME, 164 South Mount Vernon Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, July 30, until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with the Rev. Roger L. Yeager and the Rev. Charles Little officiating.

Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
