Anthony G. German, 79, of Penn Township, Pa., and formerly of Uniontown, Pa., died Friday, July 26, 2002, at his home.He was born November 22, 1922, in New Salem, Pa., son of John German and Catherine Stana German. Two brothers, Louis and Andrew German, and parents preceded him in death.

He was the former owner and operator of The Pussy Cat Lounge in Peters Township, Pa., a Veteran of World War II who served with the Merchant Marines, and a member of Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church in Murrysville.

He is survived by his wife, Amy Lewis German; a son, James S. Miller of Columbus, Ohio; a daughter, Monique G. Wertz and her husband, David R. Wertz, of Hopewell Township, Pa.; four grandchildren: Kelsey R. Wertz, Andrew D. Wertz, Jennifer Miller, Jessica Miller; three brothers: John “Jack” German of Uniontown, Pa., Michael German of Cleveland, Ohio, Joseph German of St. Louis, Missouri; and a sister, Amelia Lemansky of Uniontown, Pa.

Friends were received at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 521 Main Street, Irwin, Pa., on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will be held today, Monday, July 29, at 11:30 a.m. in Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, Murrysville, Pa.

Interment will follow in St. Mary (Nativity) Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.
