Gloria A. Hall
Gloria A. Hall, 78, of Uniontown, Pa., died peacefully at home on Monday, July 29, 2002. She was born August 26, 1923 in California, Pa., a daughter of Peter J. and Olive (Charlton) Wood.
Her parents and a brother Robert Wood preceded her in death.
Gloria was a member of St. John The Evangelist Roman Catholic Church and the Uniontown Hospital Retired Employees. She was a graduate of California High School and had been employed as a secretary at Wheeling Steel Company. Later she was employed with the Uniontown Hospital from which she retired in 1987, after 11 years in the medical records department.
A devoted wife, mother, proud grandmother and great grandmother, she lived her life with grace and strength embracing every moment. Her love of antiques, camping at Big Bear Lake, bowling, and playing cards were the things shared with her family, and are the memories that will be forever cherished.
Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Norman C. Hall; two sons, Larry C. Hall and wife Bernadette of Monessen, Pa., Jeffrey R. Hall and wife Susan of Memphis, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Michelle Hall of Monessen, Melissa Miller and husband Wayne of Manassas, Va., Bradley Hall, Mitchell Hall and Devin Hall, all of Memphis, Tennessee; two great grandchildren, Joshua and Hayley Miller, both of Manassas, Va.; a sister-in-law, Jean Wood Havner of Smithfield, Pa. and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the HAKY FUNERAL HOMES, INC., A Dignity Memorial Provider, 139 W. Fayette St., Uniontown, Pa. today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday until 9 a.m.
A Mass of Christian burial will then be held at 9:30 a.m., in St. John The Evangelist R.C. Church, with the Rev. Fr. William J. Kiel as celebrant.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
Parish Wake Service will be held today at 8 p.m.
