Wassil Tarasuk, 82, of Dilliner, Pa., died Thursday, May 30, 2002, at his home. Born July 23, 1919, in Shepard, Michigan, the son of Leon Tarasuk and Catherine Celuh Tarasuk.

He was a retired Machine Operator who worked in Highway Construction.

He was a member of The Nativity of The Blessed Virgin Mary Orthodox Church in Masontown, United Mine Workers of America Local 6159 Bobtown, and Construction Union Local 1058 in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Surviving are a daughter, Gloria VanZandt, and granddaughters, Debra Lynne VanZandt and Cynthia Leigh VanZandt all of Slidell, Louisiana; a brother, Fred Tarasuk of Dilliner; and sisters: Olga Tarasuk of Dilliner, Mrs. Steve (Helen) Pekar of Bobtown, Pa., and Sophia Wallace of Masontown, Pa.

Preceding him in death were three brothers, Leon Tarasuk, Nick Tarasuk, John in infancy, sisters, Anna Nevedale and Mary Tarasuk, and his parents.

Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, June 3, until 10 a.m., the hour of a Funeral Service with Rev. Fr. Alexander Tandilashvili officiating.

Interment follows in Evergreen Memorial Park, Point Marion, Pa.

Parastas Service will be held in the Funeral Home today at 8 p.m.

Visitation was also held Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.
