Joanne Yankura Ruse, R.N.
Joanne Yankura Ruse, R.N., 71, of Uniontown, Pa., and formerly of Hopwood, Pa., passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2002, in Uniontown Hospital. She was born April 4, 1931, in Uniontown, Pa., daughter of John R. Yankura and Marguerite Lutz Yankura.
Joanne was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church where she also taught Pre-school.
She owned and operated Ruses Roost in Hopwood for many years.
She graduated from Allegheny Hospital School of Nursing with an R.N. Degree and nursed at Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh and Uniontown Hospital.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Yankura, and her parents.
Surviving are three children and spouses: David Ruse and wife, Jane, of Chalk Hill, Pa., Lauren and husband, Tom Kurutz, of Uniontown, and Lee Ruse and wife, Irina, of Hopwood; eight grandchildren: Allyson and Mandi Ruse, Brandy and Melissa Kurutz, Brent Carbonara, Tommy Kurutz, Stephanie Carbonara, and Alika Rachael Ruse; brothers and sister: Thomas Yankura of Connecticut, Robert Yankura of Uniontown, George Yankura of Maine, and Judy Chick of Pittsburgh, Pa.
Friends were received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, Hopwood, Pa., on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, June 1, from Noon until 2 p.m., the hour of the Service. The Rev. Thomas Whitehead officiated.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Calvary United Methodist Pre-school, which in part owes its existence to Joanne.
