James A. Mangold, age 49, of Bruceton Mills, West Virginia. An angel of the Lord came Friday, May 31, 2002, to accompany him to his heavenly home. There he met the Redeemer and was reunited with his father who arrived there in 1993.

Jim was born October 5, 1952, in Uniontown, Pa. He was the son of the late Edwin J. Mangold.

Surviving are his mother, Elizabeth Pishko Mangold, Fairchance, Pa.; his sister, Martha Korona and her companion, Frank Jernejcic, Cheat Lake, West Virginia; brothers: Robert Mangold, McClellandtown, Pa., and Leonard Mangold and his wife, Denise, Fairchance, Pa.; nephew, Paul Mangold; nieces: Missy, Ann, Amanda and Angela; as well as many dedicated Friends who knew him as “Mooner”.

Jim was a graduate of Fairchance-Georges High School and also West Virginia University with a Degree in Classical Music.

He was an accomplished Pianist, Master Carpenter, and an avid Fisherman who spent many hours seeking elusive trout in Bear Creek. His last fishing trip occurred on May 12 on the South Branch of the Potomac River where he outsmarted several Bass although he could barely walk.

The Family will receive Friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., today from 12 Noon to 9 p.m.

Friends are invited to join with Family and attend a Mass of Christian Burial in Ss. Cyril & Methodius Roman Catholic Church, Fairchance, on Tuesday, June 4, at 9:30 a.m. with Rev. Fr. David Nazimek as Celebrant.

Interment will follow in Saint Joseph’s Cemetery, Fairchance.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the James Mangold Memorial Fund c/o Martha Korona, 501 Lakeview Estates, Morgantown, WV 26508.

Parish Wake Service will be held this evening.

Visitation was also held Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.
