In response to an article Monday on Laurel Highlands School District’s petition to the Fayette County Court of Common Pleas regarding a bond issue, James Killinger, chairman of the Fayette County Tax Assessment Appeal Board, and Lloyd Moser, a membe r of the board, said the board did not reduce the assessment of the Uniontown Mall and made no change to assessments when presented with appeals on Wal-Mart and Kmart. Laurel Highlands’ solicitor Gary Frankhouser clarified the Uniontown Mall issue was resolved through litigation and that the Wal-Mart and Kmart issues remain pending in court.
