Jurors begin deliberations Fayette County jurors began deliberations in a drug case lodged against Connellsville resident, Ralph A. Falco.

The 202 E. Francis Ave. man, who turned 27 on Tuesday, is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to a complaint filed by Connellsville Police Cpl. Ronald J. Haggerty Jr., police went to Falco’s home on Dec. 3, 2000, for a dispute. While there, police said they could smell marijuana coming from his room and saw a glass pipe on a table there.

Police took the pipe, a box that contained seeds, roaches and papers, a wooden pipe and an additional roach clip. They also found a bag of marijuana that weighed 6.9 grams in Falco’s front pocket.

Drug trial opens

A drug trial began Tuesday in Fayette County Court for Daun Grogan of Pittsburgh.

The 38-year-old is charged with possession, possession with intent to deliver and delivery of 17 grams of crack cocaine to undercover police.

Grogan reportedly sold the crack to a confidential informant in the parking lot of Warehouse Groceries along Route 119 in Bullskin Township in exchange for $900 on Jan. 27.

According to state police, after the informant bought the drugs, she gave police a sign and they arrested Grogan.

Testimony is expected to continue this morning.

Testimony to continue

Fayette County jurors will hear continuing testimony today in a burglary case.

Dennis J. Mayer, 31, of 64 Lenox St., Uniontown, is allegedly breaking into Wendy Sue Baker’s North Union Township home on Jan. 19. Baker, according to a state police complaint, came home around 10:30 p.m., and found Mayer in her bedroom with a knife.

She ran from the room, according to the report, and got her brother, Kenneth Baker. He returned to her Varndell Street home with her and allegedly found Mayer hiding behind the bedroom door.

Kenneth Baker reportedly removed him from the home and police allegedly found Mayer standing outside Wendy Baker’s home around 10:45 p.m.

Police allege he smelled of alcohol at the time.

He was charged with burglary, criminal trespass and public drunkenness. The trial will resume this morning.
