William S. Snyder, 72, of Smithfield, Pa., died Sunday, June 2, 2002 at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was born December 22, 1929, in Fayette City, Pa., son of the late William M. Snyder and Bessie M. Baker Snyder.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Lorraine Hair and Gloria Bruce.

Surviving is his wife of 52 years, Virginia L. Swaney Snyder; the following children, William M. Snyder and wife Vivian, North Pole, Alaska, Mark E. Snyder and wife Janice, Masontown, Pa., Eva Rae Moore and husband David, Maynard, Mass., Wayne S. Snyder, Sr., Michael L. Snyder, Sr. and Clifford E. Snyder, all of Smithfield, Pa.; eight grandsons; three granddaughters; two great grandsons; 10 great granddaugthers; a brother, James C. Snyder of Pennsylvania and three sisters, Connie Adams, Masontown, Pa., Patty and Mary Jane.

The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 W. Church St., Fairchance, Pa., today until 11 a.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. Russ Brown officiating.

Interment in Irwin Memorial Cemetery, Ohiopyle, Pa.
