Harry E. Denney
Harry E. Denney, 62, a resident of Menallen Township, Pa., died Tuesday, June 4, 2002, in West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa. He was born Dec. 22, 1939, in Uniontown, Pa., son of the late Harold B. and Emma Jane Sickles Denney.
Mr. Denney was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Uniontown, Pa. He served with the New Salem Volunteer Fire Department for many years. He was also a truck driver for 32 years. Together with his wife, Roberta, they managed the 4-H Concession Stand at the Fayette County Fair. Mr. Denney also donated his time to the Menallen Township Supervisors.
He is survived by his wife, Roberta Riggle Denney, at home; two children, Harry Jr., and Kevin and his wife, Jackie, both of Uniontown, Pa.; two grandchildren, Kevin Jr., and Kellie; two sisters, Barbara Mallder and husband, Willy of Rock Island, Ill., and Betty Pastorius and husband, Clayton of Ridgely, W.Va.; and nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his mother and father-in-law of Fredericktown, Pa.
Friends were received in the J. HARRY JOHNSTON FUNERAL HOME, 65 North Gallatin Ave., Uniontown, Pa., on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Visitation will be continued today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Services will be conducted in St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 71 North Gallatin Ave., Uniontown, Pa., on Friday, June 7, 2002, with the Rev. Paul N. Frank Jr., officiating. Interment will be in LaFayette Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul ‘s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
