Guilty verdict returned Samuel B. Lilley, 24, of Normalville was convicted of simple assault and harassment, but acquitted of criminal homicide and public drunkenness in Fayette County Court.

Lilley was charged with beating up William Kuhn at Gibson Terrace in Connellsville last Sept. 3. During that altercation, Connellsville police charged that Lilley broke Kuhn’s nose and damaged his cellular telephone when he tried to call 911 and ask for help.

Police said the fight started at 12:36 a.m., and according to court records, it was over a woman.

Judge Ralph C. Warman presided over the trial and will sentence Lilley at a later date.

Suspect convicted

Thomas Cominsky of Connellsville was convicted Thursday of possession of drugs, possession of paraphernalia and receiving stolen property.

Cominsky, 37, of 1221 Sycamore St., had 1.14 grams of Oxycontin, drug paraphernalia and blank, stolen prescription forms in a Bible in his home when police searched it on March 8, 2001.

Police allege that, although Cominsky had a prescription for 20 mg Oxycontin pills, he had 40 and 80 mg pills that were illegally obtained in his home.

He will be sentenced at a later date before Judge Steve P. Leskinen.
