Uniontown Area School District graduates 209 seniors

Uniontown Area School District graduated 209 seniors during the June 3 commencement. Mark S. Kampert Jr. was named the Uniontown High School valedictorian for 2001. Adam L. Bozick was named the salutatorian.

Kampert is the son of Mark and Mary Agnes Kampert Sr.

His high school awards included being voted “most intelligent.” He maintained a 4.75 grade point average throughout his senior year. He also received the Air Force Math and Science Award and Marine Corps Scholastic Achievement Award. He participated in the Math Team, Science Team, NAACP, gifted education program, soccer, football, basketball and Eagle Scouts.

Kampert has worked at Wendy’s and The Finish Line.

He will attend Bucknell University and possibly play basketball.

Bozick is the son of Pete and Linda Bozick.

Among school activities, he was senior class vice president, Math and Science Team vice president, Spanish Club vice president, National Honor Society member and Student Council member. He was a member of the football team, All County Team (two years) and the Fay-West All Star Football Team. He was named to the Pennsylvania Football News All Academic Gold Team. He was also a member of the track and basketball team.

Other honors include Citizen of the Month Award from the Board of Fayette County Commissioners, citation from the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, Uniontown Chamber of Commerce student of the month, DAR Citizenship Award, Jefferson Foundation Scholarship Finalist, Four Years Straight A’s Award, Pittsburgh YMCA-Tribune Review Scholar Athlete Award, Uniontown Area High School Faculty Award, President’s Education Award for Outstanding Academic Excellence, Uniontown Rotary Club Senior Boy Award, Kiwanis Club Student of the Month, Air Force Math and Science Award, Secretary of the Navy Scholastic Leadership Award and National Wild Turkey Federation Scholarship. He was a published author in “Pennsylvania Games News.”

Bozick will attend Lafayette College in Easton, Pa., on an athletic and academic scholarship where he will major in engineering and play Division 1AA football.
