Police probe series of crimes

2 min read

State police are investigating a series of crimes that began just after midnight Tuesday when someone entered David Earl Whitlock Jr.’s residence on Pennsylvania Avenue, Brownsville, and took his wallet and his wife’s Bible. The Bible was recovered and police lifted numerous fingerprints from the home. The unidentified suspect then went to the Kwik-Fill in Menallen Township with Whitlock’s credit card and purchased cartons of cigarettes and rolls of chewing tobacco.

A store security camera recorded a white man, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, 170 pounds with short, ear-length brown hair, a two-day growth of facial hair and wearing blue jeans and a T-shirt.

The license plate of the vehicle the suspect was driving was written down, which led police to Sycamore, Greene County. Police said the owner, Rose Marie Kinsley, said she was the victim of a carjacking on Route 21 near the Pizza Hut in German Township. She said a black man and a white man entered her vehicle at gunpoint and drove her around for about 21/2 days. Her car was impounded and numerous fingerprints were found on the interior and exterior.

State trooper John Marshall, the criminal investigator handling the case, asks anybody with information about the three incidents to call him confidentially at 724-439-7111.
