John M. Robinson Jr.
John M. Robinson Jr., 86, 1937 graduate of the Pennsylvania Maritime Academy, alumnus of the United States Merchant Marine Academy, sailed as First Officer to prewar Europe, began working in 1941 as a Navigator on the famed Pan American Clippers flying the first regularly scheduled transatlantic commercial passenger flights, continued his career as a Navigator with international commercial cargo carrier Seaboard & Western Airlines, who was born in Connellsville, Pa., and married Mary Margaret Courtney of Dunbar, Pa., died Tuesday, May 7, 2002, in a Las Vegas, Nevada, nursing home. He is survived by their three children: Dr. Elizabeth Robinson of Seattle, Washington, Nancy Robinson Muccini of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, and John Robinson of Los Angeles, California; brother, Robert Robinson of Henderson, Nevada; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law: Joseph Courtney and Elizabeth Courtney both of Calabash, North Carolina, and Rhea Bozic of Williamsport, Pa.; and grandchildren: John M. Robinson IV and Allison Lee Muccini.
Friends are invited to join with his Family for a Memorial Service which will be held this Saturday, June 15, at 11 a.m. in Palm Mortuary, 7600 South Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas, Nevada.
