Gady A. Varga
Gady A. Varga, 93, of Bobtown, Pa., died Sunday morning, June 9, 2002, in Greene County Memorial Hospital, Waynesburg, Pa. Born January 6, 1909, in Hungary, he was a son of the late August and Barbara Peters Varga.
A Coal Miner for 50 years he was retired from J & L Steel’s Shannopin Mine in Bobtown. He was a member of St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church and United Mine Workers of America Local 6159 both in Bobtown.
Surviving are his wife of nearly 65 years, Ann Rennich Varga, whom he married October 2, 1937; four daughters and spouses: Loretta Vargo of Bobtown, Carole and John Kolar of Uniontown Pa., Gloria and Joe Hatalla of Orrville, Ohio, Rita and Bernie Imrich of Waynesburg, Pa.; nine grandchildren: Barry Kolar, Lora Kolar Puskar, Chris Kolar, Kevin Kolar, Steve Hatalla, John Hatalla, Matt Imrich, Marcus Imrich, and Luke Imrich; seven great grandchildren; a sister, Rose Burless of Warren, Ohio; and three nieces.
Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m.
Family and Friends will gather at St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church, Bobtown, on Wednesday, June 12, at 9:30 a.m. where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Francis Nazimek as Celebrant.
Interment follows in Evergreen Memorial Park, Point Marion.
