Stroke screenings offered
Stroke is the nation’s third-leading cause of death in the United States and a leading cause of serious, long-term disability.
HealthSouth Rehabilitation Network in Pittsburgh is working to change those statistics by providing about 4.1 million stroke survivors a second change at improving the signs and symptoms that don’t always first appear after a first “brain attack.”
Anyone who has experienced stroke has gone through the rigors of brain scans, intravenous fluids and numerous blood tests. They may have even gone through countless therapies both as an inpatient and outpatient and been told by doctors and therapists that nothing else can be done.
But, what if that person still doesn’t feel right, has problems sleeping at night or has pain and spasms in their arm.
HealthSouth recognizes that it may be three months, six months or a year later before some of these symptoms present themselves and these patients deserve a second chance.
