Pauline Friend Bierer, age 88, of Uniontown, Pa., and formerly of Smithfield, Pa., passed away Monday, June 10, 2002, in the Uniontown Hospital. She was born June 9, 1914, in Preston County, West Virginia, daughter of the late Andrew J. and Lizzie M. Frazee Sisler.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her first husband, Winfred P. Friend, her second husband, Roy Bierer, three brothers and two sisters, Ward Sisler, Foster Sisler, Ellen Smith, June Graham and Ray Sisler; and two nieces, Janet Yowler and Peggy Malik.

Surviving are a sister, Oma Janosik of Hopwood, Pa.; and a brother, Glenn Sisler of Friendsville, Maryland.

Pauline was a member of Blooming Rose Church and attended Great Bethel Baptist Church and owned and operated Polly’s Lunch on Fayette Street in Uniontown for many years.

Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME OF FARMINGTON, Pa., today from 3 to 9 p.m., and Wednesday, June 12, until 11 a.m., the hour of the Service with Rev. Jerry Steele officiating.

Interment will follow in Blooming Rose Cemetery, Friendsville, Md.
