Holt pitches Copperheads to 3-hit victory American Legion baseball
Masontown/Point Marion 14, Farmington 8 – Masontown/Point Marion blew a 6-0 lead, then rallied from an 8-7 deficit to defeat host Farmington.
Masontown/Point Marion scored four runs in the top of the eighth to go up 11-8, then turned an inning-ending double play in the bottom of the inning to preserve the lead. The visitors added three more runs in the ninth, two coming on Bob Epley’s triple, to ice the game.
Mike Budinsky was the winning pitcher in relief.
Chris Buncic was 3-for-5 with two doubles and a triple, and Epley was 4-for-6 with a double and the triple for Masontown/Point Marion. John Franks was 3-for-6, and Budinsky and Brian O’Neill each had two hits.
Mike Romeo was charged with the loss.
Jason Hamborsky, Jared Early, Howie King and Steve Sawaka had two hits apiece for Farmington.
