Robert S. Jackson
Robert S. Jackson, 80, of Jackson Farms, New Salem R.D.1, Pa., passed away Saturday, June 15, 2002, in Frick Community Hospital, Mount Pleasant, Pa. He was born December 29, 1921, in New Salem, Pa., son of Zadok H. Jackson and Cora Roadman Jackson.
He was a member of First Christian Church of New Salem where he served as Deacon and Trustee, a former member of Franklin Grange No. 1169, a former member of the Fayette County Extension Board, and a member of the Holstein Association, DHIA Association, and the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau.
Mr. Jackson was a Master Farmer and a former partner in Jackson Farms.
His first wife, Kathleen Jamison Jackson, his second wife, Beverly Briggs Jackson, two brothers Harold and Dwight, a sister, Evelyn Frost, and parents preceded him in death.
He is survived by the following daughters and son: Patricia and her husband, Ronald Gunn, of New Salem R.D.1, Kathleen Shaporka of Brownsville, Pa., Wendy and her husband, Michael Nick, of Fredericktown, Pa., Robert Jackson and his wife, Joy, of Brownsville, Susan and her husband, Clayton Woodward, of Valencia, Pa.; nine grandchildren: John Maczko, Robert and Michael Nick, Andrea, Amber, Adam and Aaron Jackson, Emily and Elliott Woodward; these sisters and brother: Jane Warner of De Land, Florida, Dorothy Evans of Wyandotte, Michigan, Rachel Meese of New Salem, Margaret Yesso of Pittsburgh, Pa., and William Jackson and his wife, Betty, of New Salem.
Friends will be received in the DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, New Salem, Pa., today after 7 p.m., Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Wednesday, June 19, until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with his Pastor, Andy Miles, officiating.
Interment will follow at LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill.
Memorial contributions may be made to the National MPS Society Inc. (Hunters Syndrome), 102 Aspen Drive, Downington, PA 19335 in honor of Mr. Jackson’s grandson, Aaron Jackson.
