George Earl Ross

George Earl Ross, age 72, of Uniontown, Pa., and formerly of Palmer (Adah), Pa., passed away Saturday morning, June 15, 2002, in Montefiore Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa. He was born November 3, 1929, in McCalla, Alabama, son of Joe and Lela Ross.

He was a retired United States Marine Corps Veteran, member of the Dorie Miller VFW Post 824 in Buffington and owner/operator of the former Nu-Lite Tavern in Palmer.

Preceding him in death were his parents, one daughter, Janice J. Ross, one sister, Cornelia Sorell, and a brother, Reuben Bailey.

Surviving are his wife, Zelma Clarice Ross; these children: George Earl Ross Jr., Easton, Pa., Leonard Ross, Suitland, Maryland, Gregory Ross, Waldorf, Maryland, Jason Ross, Tempe, Arizona, Tina Ross, Springfield, Virginia, Doug Braxton, Justin Ross, and Shauna Ross all of Uniontown, Pa.; four brothers: Ben Ross, Cleophas Ross, and Thomas Ross all of Cleveland, Ohio, and Matthew Ross, Uniontown, Pa.; four sisters: Ida Theadford, Easton, Pa., Betty Lewis, Uniontown, Pa., Vera Perry and Lenora Watson both of Washington, D.C.; 18 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Friends will be received in the MURIEL E. LANTZ FUNERAL HOME, 297 East Main Street, Uniontown, Pa., on Wednesday, June 19, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., the hour of Service with Rev. Alfred Thompson officiating.

Interment will follow in Edenborn Cemetery, Edenborn, Pa.
