John S. Conard, 83, of Blainesburg, Pa., died Sunday, June 16, 2002, in Brownsville General Hospital, Brownsville, Pa. Born July 31, 1918, in Albany, Pa., he was a son of the late John and Mae Redmond Conard.

Besides parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Elizabeth Leasure, and by brother, Paul Conard.

John was a Carpenter for the former Lincoln Homes in Elizabeth, Pa., and a member of the District Council Carpenter’s Union, Pittsburgh, Pa.

A United States Navy Veteran who served in World War II with a Patrol Squadron, he was a member of V.F.W. Post 47, Uniontown, Pa.

John will be sadly missed by his wife of 63 years, Ethel Antal Conard; by his daughter, Jean Ekis, and by his son, John Allen Conard and his wife, Wanda, all from Denbeau Heights, Pa.; by grandchildren: Michele Merico of California, Pa., John Allen Conard Jr. and his wife, Tonya, of Carmichaels, Pa., Marsha Conard of Brownsville, Pa., and Robert Conard of Denbeau Heights; by great grandchildren: Jessica Weiss, Blake Conard, Travis Conard, and Robert Harris all at home.

The Family will receive Friends in the CONFER FUNERAL HOME, 515 Front Street, Brownsville, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, June 19, from 10 until 11 a.m. Funeral Services will then be conducted by Rev. Alexander Jalso, retired United Presbyterian Minister officiating.

Burial will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.

Visitation was also held Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.
