Albert Seese
Albert “Bill” Seese, 92, of Dunbar Township (Works Hill), Pa., died Tuesday, June 18, 2002, in Highlands Hospital, Connellsville. He was born Jan. 1, 1910, in Vanderbilt, Pa., the son of the late Sebastian and Elsie Marks Seese.
He retired from Anchor Hocking in 1974, where he worked as a tank tender. He was also the former Dunbar Township Auditor, having been continuously elected for 49 years. He was a lifelong resident of Dunbar Township, and a lifelong member of the former Little Summit United Methodist Church. He was a member of the General Worth Lodge No. 386 of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and the Grand Encampment of Connellsville. He was also a 50-year member of the Curfew Grange No. 1052 in Flatwoods.
Surviving are two daughters, Janet McManus and her husband, Joseph of Connellsville, and Dolores Seese of Dunbar Township; five grandchildren, Joseph “Rusty” McManus of Connellsville, David McManus and his wife, Patti of Sarasota, Fla., Lisa Seese, Shawnna Seese and her fianc?e Duane Fiano of Dunbar Township, and Robert Seese of Ruffsdale; three great-grandchildren, Kara and Seth Fiano and Christian Seese, all of Dunbar Township; a brother, Alvin Seese and his wife, Helen of Montverde, Fla.; and a sister, Alice Skiles of Windham, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Thelma Beatty Seese; three brothers, Harry, Charles and John Seese; and a sister, Mary Elizabeth Dibler.
Family and friends will be received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 East Green St., Connellsville, today from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m., in the funeral home, with the Rev. Dr. Marvin C. Watson officiating. A committal service and interment will follow in the Laurel Hill Memorial Cemetery, Franklin Township. The General Worth Lodge No. 386 will conduct a service on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. The Curfew Grange 1052 will conduct a service today at 7:30 p.m., in the funeral home.
