Brian Shipley went 3 for 3 with a double and four RBIs as Bud Murphy’s hammered host Anthony Crane, 15-3 in five innings, in Fayette County Baseball League action on Tuesday. Every Bud’s starter had at least one hit in a 13-hit attack, including Joe Bonadio, who was 2 for 3 with a double. Bob Showman also doubled for the visitors, who improved to 10-1.
The game was still in doubt in the bottom of the fourth when Anthony Crane scored twice to pull within 7-3 and had the bases loaded with one out. Jason Halfhill relieved starter Marty Fagler, however, and got out of the jam without any further damage.
Bud’s then exploded for eight runs in the fifth to put the game away.
Halfhill finished up with 1 2-3 innings of work to earn a save. He struck out two and walked one. Fagler struck out eight and walked two in 3 2-3 innings to earn the win.
Losing pitcher Ken Musko doubled and singled for Anthony Crane (5-5). Bill Rouse also had two hits.
Anthony Crane pitchers combined to walk 10 batters, helping Bud’s cause.
Bud’s travels to Fayette City/Belle Vernon today for a 6 p.m. game.
Mill Run 7, Brownsville 1 – Bob Saddler and Doug Gallick combined to toss a three-hitter as host Mill Run defeated Brownsville.
Saddler gave up on run on three hits with two walks and five strikeouts in six innings to pick up the win. Gallick closed out the game with one scoreless frame.
Mill Run struck for five runs in the third to open the game’s scoring. Brownsville tallied its only run in the top of the fourth, but Jim Warrick’s two-run single in the bottom of the inning gave Mill Run a six-run advantage.
Warrick drove in three runs and Dennis Show had two hits for Mill Run (6-5).
Losing pitcher Craig Rechichar struck out five and walked five in five innings for Brownsville (5-6). Dan Kupets struck out two and walked two in two scoreless innings of relief.
Mill Run travels to Carmichaels on Friday for a 6 p.m. game.

Farmington 11, Uniontown 7 – Gary King’s two-run single highlighted a five-run seventh inning as Farmington rallied late to upset visiting Uniontown.
Uniontown (9-3) jumped out to a 4-1 lead before Farmington (4-7) rallied for five runs in the bottom of the second to go up 6-4. Uniontown grabbed the lead back with three runs in the fourth.
The score stayed that way until the bottom of the seventh. Greg Billy singled and Mike George doubled to begin the winning frame for Farmington. Greg Leonard brought in the tying run with a ground out, then Randy Fisher walked and Ed Pillar reached on a bunt single to load the bases. King followed with his key hit to bring in the winning runs, and Jared Early followed Nate Klingensmith’s sacrifice bunt with a two-run double to cap the game’s scoring.
Play was halted after the seventh inning due to darkness.
Early struck out eight and walked three in pitching a complete game for the win, and also had two hits and four RBIs. King singled three times and knocked in three runs, and George contributed two hits for Farmington.
Losing pitcher Paul Briczinski cracked a pair of triples for Uniontown. Aaron Lowden contributed three hits, including a double, and Paul Metz had a double and single. Brennen Dayton chipped in with a double.
Farmington travels to Waynesburg Friday for a 6 p.m. game.
