Royden G. Grimm Sr.
Royden G. Grimm Sr., 72, of Fairchance, Pa., died Sunday, June 16, 2002, in Uniontown Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was born September 1, 1929, in Fairchance, Pa., son of the late Frederick D. Grimm, Sr. and Bertha Miller Grimm.
Besides his parents, Roy was predeceased by his brothers, Everett, Ben, Frederick, James, Howard and Harold Grimm and son-in-law, Jake Swaney.
He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the United States Navy. Roy also worked for French’s Food Products for most of his life until his retirement.
Surviving are two children, Roy G. “Jug” Grimm and his wife Vicki of Fairchance and Tracy Grimm Swaney of Uniontown and their mother Marlene Grimm Pasquale of Fairchance; four grandchildren, Ryan and Derrick Grimm and Jason and Brandi Swaney; brothers and sisters, Norine Maskulka and husband David of Fairchance, Ralph Grimm and wife Edna of Fairchance Edythe HiBay of Groveland, Fla., Janice Wilson of Fairchance, Robert Grimm and wife Betty of Fairchance, Leatrice Ansell of Chicago, IL., Betty Lou Fields and husband, Glenn of Ford, Delaware and Richard Grimm and wife Eleanor of Fairchance and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., today until 11 a.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. Russ Brown officiating.
Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park.
Military rites will be accorded by Amvets Post 103 of Hopwood.
