Mrs. Nellie E. Kois Essling, 81, of 516 “C” Street, LaPorte, Indiana, owner of Nell’s Attic Antiques and also her own catering service, who resided until 1942 in McClellandtown, Pa., and was born in Uniontown, Pa., died Tuesday, June 18, 2002, at 6:30 a.m. in LaPorte Hospital. She is survived by her husband, Quentin J. Essling, whom she married on February 8, 1947, in LaPorte; daughters: Kathleen and husband, Donald Brockriede, of Columbiaville, Michigan, Quinnell and husband, Barry Gutwein, of Francesville, Indiana, Jeannie and husband, Kevin Chandler, of Loveland, Colorado, Charleen and husband, Loic LeMarchand, of Kailua, Hawaii, Lori and husband, John Byers, of Solsberry, Indiana; sons: Thomas Essling and wife, Cindee, of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Gerry Essling of LaPorte, Indiana; 20 grandchildren; sisters: Ann Kois Wydra Paclorek of Palos Park, Illinois, Josephine Kois Sredinski of Uniontown, Pa., and Carolyn Kois Karpinski of Calsbad, California; brothers: George Kois of Uniontown, Pa., Joseph Kois of Mentor, Ohio, Jacob Kois of Warren, Ohio, and Stanley Kois of LaPorte, Indiana; 45 nieces and nephews.

The Family will receive Friends in the Essling Funeral Home, 1117 Indiana Avenue, LaPorte, Indiana, on Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, June 22, from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
