Woman sentenced

Convicted earlier this month in Fayette County Court of selling 17 grams of crack cocaine to an undercover police informant, Daun Grogan was sentenced to five to 10 years in prison.

The sentence, for possession, possession with intent to deliver and delivery of drugs, is mandatory under state sentencing guidelines.

Grogan, 38, of Pittsburgh was charged with selling the drugs for $900 on Jan. 27 in the parking lot of Warehouse Groceries along Route 119, Bullskin Township. According to state police, after the informant bought the drugs, she gave police a sign and they arrested Grogan.

In addition to the sentence, Grogan was ordered to pay $30,000 to the county for use in its law library. Judge Conrad B. Capuzzi also gave Grogan credit for three months of time served while awaiting trial on the charges.
