Major Patrick J. Coburn
Major Patrick J. Coburn, 81, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2002, in his home. He was born March 17, 1921 in Lemont Furnace, Pa., the son of John and Agnes Collingwood Coburn.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters: Mary Kagarise, Elizabeth Mankovich and Kathleen Dukeman; brothers, John Coburn Jr. and Vincent Coburn.
Major Patrick Coburn was a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church where he served as Sacristan for several years, was Maj. Inf. U.S.A. Retired, 13 F.A.Hawaii 1941, 3 A Europe World War II, 27 Inf. Rept. Korea 1950, M.A.A.G. Vietnam 1960 and was the recipient of the Purple Heart.
He is survived by his loving sisters Bridget Yauger of Lemont Furnace, Pa. and Marguerite Souza of Canbridge, Mass.; also several loving nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN E. KEZMARSKY FUNERAL HOME at 71 PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE, Uniontown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday until 10:30 a.m. when a Blessing Service will be held followed by an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. William J. Kiel as Celebrant.
Interment follows in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
Parish Wake Service this evening at 8:30 p.m.
Amvets Post 103 Hopwood, Pa. will conduct military services at graveside.
