Richard “Dick” Clark, 96, of Smithfield, Pa., died Tuesday, June 18, 2002, in his residence. He was born January 12, 1906, in Greene County, Pa., son of Benjamin Franklin Clark and Mary Meredith Clark.

His parents, an infant son Richard P. Clark, brothers and sisters, Oliver Clark, Viola Moats, Bessie Swaney, Effie Clark, Edna Dillow, Edward Clark, Mary Hayden, Lloyd Clark, Stella Tate, Marie Moats, and Emily Hollis preceded him in death.

During his early years of life he was a laborer in local coal mines and local construction projects and for 30 years until his retirement he was a timber cutter for Paul Rhodes Lumber Company.

Surviving are his wife, Susanna Margaret Clark; children: Charles Clark, Smithfield, Lynn and husband Jerry Hill, Harrison City, Pa., Richard F. Clark, Fairchance, Pa., Mary and husband Albert Zelmore, Smithfield, Bonnie and husband Fred Jordan, Shoaf, Pa., Leslie Clark, Pittsburgh, Pa., Robin Clark, Smithfield, Barbara and husband James Kennedy, Smithfield; 17 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

The Family will receive Friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Saturday, June 22, until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with Rev. John Moser officiating.

Interment will follow in Miller-Sisler Cemetery, Georges Township, Fayette County, Pa.
