Ruth Lorraine Holt
Ruth Lorraine Newman Holt died Tuesday evening, June 18, 2002, at home in Smithfield, Pa. She was born January 14, 1929, in Grindstone, Pa., daughter of the now late William and Bertha Mariah Newman.
She was a member of Waltersburg Church of The Nazarene and York Run Grange No. 1699.
Her parents, son, Russell, son and daughter-in-law, David and Linda Holt, grandson, Tim, 11 brothers and sisters preceded her in death. She was the last surviving member of 11 brothers and sisters in her immediate family.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Lawrence Holt Jr.; sons: Earl Holt and wife, Frances, of Jumonville, Pa., and Lawrence Holt II of Smithfield; daughters: Cindy and husband, Robert Newman of Smithfield, Barbara Nine of Smithfield, Pam and husband Tim Ford, of Florida; daughter-in-law, Susan Holt; grandchildren: JoyLynn Tuttle and husband Allen, David Holt and wife Sherry, Jim Holt and wife Amy, Lawrence Holt III, Tonia Hughes and husband Chris, Christy Nine and Sherri Nine, Marcy Conchilla and husband Rob, Bobby Newman with the United States Air Force, Ryan Ford and wife Aileen, Michael Ford and Ashley Ford; and 12 great grandchildren.
Friends will be received in the JOHN F. BROWNFIELD FUNERAL HOME OF SMITHFIELD, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Saturday, June 23, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jay Hurley of Mount Moriah Baptist Church officiating.
Interment will follow in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Smithfield.
York Run Grange #1699 will hold ritualistic services this evening at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
