Gladys McDowell Varndell
Gladys M. McDowell Varndell, 89, of Jeannette R.D.2, Pa., died Friday, June 21, 2002, in St. Anne Home, Greensburg, Pa. She was born September 7, 1912, in New Salem, Pa., daughter of Arthur McDowell and Susan Burke McDowell.
Her husband, Christopher D. Varndell, died in 1986. Also deceased are a daughter, Lillie Dranzik, two brothers, a sister, and parents.
She is survived by four sons: C. Daniel Varndell Jr. and his wife, Patricia, of Cincinnati, Ohio, Arthur W. Varndell and his wife, Frances, of Hannastown, Pa., Thomas E. Varndell and his wife, Barbara, of Irwin, Pa., and Mark W. Varndell and his companion, Mary, of Jeannette R.D.2; six grandchildren: Audra (Dranzik) Burbank and her husband, Steve, of Somerset, New Jersey, Jennifer (Varndell) Woodman of Baltimore, Maryland, Sandra (Dranzik) White and her husband, Terry, of Lewisberry, Pa., Meagan (Varndell) Bernett and her husband, Shae, of Cincinnati, Ohio, Kristi Varndell of Houston, Texas, and Erin Varndell of Cincinnati, Ohio; three great grandsons: Stephan, Cameron and Noah Bernett; four sisters: Mildred Martin of Kingwood, West Virginia, Dorothy Fisher of Uniontown, Pa., Lillian Solomon of Akron, Ohio, and Izora Miller of Hancock, Maryland; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton at Green streets, Greensburg, Pa., today from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
