Stephanie Lauren McMains and James Murphy Wolfe are announcing their engagement. The bride-elect is the daughter of Susan McMains of McLean, Va., and Stephen McMains, also of McClean. She is a graduate of Virginia Tech with a bachelor of science degree in human nutrition, foods and exercise.

Her fiance is the son of Elwood and Ann Wolfe of McClellandtown. He is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering at Virginia Tech.

They are planning a Sept. 28 wedding in Blacksburg, Va.
