Nell F. Higinbotham

Nell F. (Fleming) Higinbotham, age 87, of Merrittstown, Pa., passed away Monday, June 24, 2002, in Laurel Ridge Center, Uniontown, Pa. She was born July 7, 1914, in Brier Hill, Pa., daughter of John F. Fleming and Anna Boyd Fleming.

Nell was a member of Dunlap Creek Presbyterian Church and the Margaret E. Caven No. 42 of Pennsylvania Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem.

She was a retired Postmaster of the Merrittstown Post Office with over 42 years of postal service.

Her husband, Eugene E. Higinbotham, a brother, Dan Fleming, and parents preceded her in death.

She is survived by her son, Eugene Lee Higinbotham and his wife Carole of Merrittstown; four grandchildren: Sue and her husband Brian Moon, Dan Higinbotham and his wife Dawn, David Higinbotham and his wife Brooke, and Tim Higinbotham and his wife Emily; five great grandchildren: Elizabeth and Adam Moon, Riley and Tyler Higinbotham, and Dylan Higinbotham; a cousin, Catherine Johnson of Martinsburg, West Virginia; a sister-in-law, Grace Patterson of Grindstone, Pa.; a niece and nephew, Carol Blair and Roger Patterson.

Friends will be received in the DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, 35 South Mill Street, New Salem, Pa., on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday, June 27, until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with Rev. Daniel W. Little officiating.

Interment will follow in Redstone Cemetery, Brownsville, Pa.
