QUILTERS at Franklin Memorial United Methodist Church, Dunbar, will hold an informational session for beginning quilters today at 6 p.m. These new classes will be held soon and class size will be limited. Sign up soon. Those interested may attend the meeting or call the church at 724-277-4641 on Wednesday between 10 a.m. and noon. MONARCH FIRE DEPARTMENT will hold its annual festival Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Monarch Social Hall. D.J. “Just Havin Fun” will play from 8 p.m. to midnight on Friday; Saturday, 6 p.m., bingo; Sunday, 1 to 4 p.m., meatloaf dinner. Adult meals are $5 and children meals are $3. Games, cake wheel and refreshments will also be featured.
BROWNSVILLE HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1952 will hold their 50th-year class reunion on Aug. 3 at Summit Inn Resort, Farmington. Reservations are due by July 3.
REPUBLIC COMMUNITY LIBRARY is open from 1 to 4 p.m. during the summer months. The summer reading program begins July 9 with registration and face painting from 1 to 4 p.m. On July 12, story hour, crafts with surprise will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. On July 20, Fun with “Mr. Paul” will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. A town meeting, Free Blue Chip Insurance for children will take place at 7 p.m. on July 24. July 26 from 2 to 3 p.m. is story hour, crafts and surprise. On July 31, picnic and awards will take place from 1 to 4 p.m.
